Open Heat - Visiting Speedland Kart Track in São Paulo - SP

UNVEILING THE MEGA-COMPLEX OF SPEEDLAND KART CENTER!! 🏎️

Hey team! GRAFE Racing is back, and for our latest review, we visited one of the big names in amateur karting in São Paulo: Speedland Kart Center, located in the Tatuapé neighborhood, in the east zone of the city of São Paulo - SP.

Known for its mega-structure, diverse track layouts, and an environment that goes far beyond racing, Speedland promises a complete experience. Does it deliver on all its promises? We prepared our helmets, gloves, and racing suits and went there to check out every detail!

Technical Sheet:

  • Full Name: Speedland Kart Center

  • Location: Rua Ulisses Cruz, 275 - Tatuapé, São Paulo - SP - Brazil.

  • Accessibility: Located in an easily accessible area in the east zone of São Paulo, in the Tatuapé neighborhood. The complex is next to Av. Salim Farah Maluf, near the Tatuapé bridge for those coming from Marginal Tietê or even the Dutra Highway. The space is well signposted and offers ample on-site parking, which is a great convenience in the capital. For those using public transport, it is possible to go by Metro or train, disembark at Tatuapé station and walk there, a journey that takes approximately 15 minutes at a leisurely pace.

  • Opening Hours, contact, tickets and/or reservations: Generally, it operates from 12 pm to 10 pm, every day of the week, but it's always good to check directly with the source, right? Here's the link:  https://www.speedland.com.br/?utm_source=googlemb&utm_campaign=profile

The Track:

Let's get straight to the point, man... what's the track like?

Well, the big difference at Speedland is its multiple track configurations. They have a main kart track that can be divided or joined, forming varied layouts for different groups and skill levels. Furthermore, it's one of the only kart tracks that has both indoor and outdoor layouts, and from what we've seen online and from our own experience, with both layouts joined, the track reaches an impressive 1,200 meters in length.

Speaking of the asphalt, on the night we visited the kart track, the weather and temperature were mild/pleasant, with no rain or intense cold. It was perfect for racing there and feeling the thrill of speeding on that track. The asphalt was excellent; there were no potholes or problems that hindered acceleration.

Returning to the track, on the layout we drove on, we had a U-turn right after the start, S-turns at various points, a wonderful straight that circles the inner circuit, and finally, several other turns, especially the one at the exit/entrance of the outdoor track to the indoor track....

I found the track width a bit narrow compared to other karting tracks. I believe that in heats with many people, overtaking, especially of slower drivers, can be a bit difficult and laborious, but I think it depends a lot on the point of view, right? On the one hand, it can be complex and challenging, but on the other hand, that's where the thrill of overtaking lies. If I'm not mistaken, the limit of drivers there, in the same heat, is 25 people. Wow....

Karts and Equipment:

The karts and equipment were of good quality, especially considering the rental karts. They have 6.5 HP, ideal for both indoor and outdoor tracks, providing a lot of fun.

Regarding equipment such as gloves, helmet, balaclava, protectors, and overalls, we ended up not using those available at the kart track, since we have our own, but they all seemed extremely clean and of good quality. On the day we went, the price of the session already included the kit: gloves, helmet, balaclava, and rib protector; the rental of the overalls is charged separately.

Structure and Services:

In addition to the indoor and outdoor tracks, the kart track has a games area where you can sit in a simulator and virtually race at Interlagos (this attraction costs 15 minutes). There's a snack bar offering delicious snacks to fill your stomach and, if it's hot, a cold Heineken draft beer (remember, drivers, if you're going to drive, whether car or kart, DON'T DRINK!).

Finally, there's a very generous space with tables, a photo area, and even a Heineken paddock club where you can watch the race in the middle of the track on a big screen... A very cool idea....

Photos of the day:

In short:

If you're looking for a place to race, live in São Paulo, and don't want to take a mini-trip, this kart track is perfect. Its location is extremely advantageous and offers great value for money.

But a visit with friends isn't just worthwhile for the location; it's a reason the kart track is known as the "Monaco of São Paulo" for karting. The track, besides being gigantic (compared to others), is very technical, with sensational straights and curves that guarantee challenging overtaking.

In short, go there someday, you'll definitely be surprised!

Thanks everyone, until the next post...
